Prepping a barcart for the holidays is one of our favorite past times here at The Roc Shop!
Any successful hostess will tell you that having a fully stocked bar cart is pretty much an essential for a successful holiday gathering, and can even help you set the tone and pace for the evening. (Plus, it’s also the perfect opportunity to showcase you bartending skills with signature cocktails, and creative glass and partyware!).
Creating a insta-worthy bar cart is much easier than you may think! From flashes of glittery gold stir sticks, to garlands of greenery – we are sharing a few simple tips and tricks to help you raise the bar, and have your guests raising a glass! Cheers!
ALCOHOL:: Options are always good!
This holiday season be sure to keep seasonal faves handy and give your guests plenty of options for mixing up a Merry cocktail.
LIQUEURS & MIXERS:: Get Fancy!
I definitely recommend having club soda, tonic water, ginger ale, simple syrup, bitters, and some liqueur options such as Eldeflower, Chambord and/or Frangelico. Fresh lemon and limes, cherries, and olives allow your guests to add flavor and adorn their cocktails. Insta ready for sure!
GLASSWARE:: Bring some style to those dranks!
I’m all about a seriously sexy and sassy glass in hand while getting my drank on! Be sure to have some
- tall glasses for those friends that are all about their doubles
- short or rocks glasses, the universal cocktail glass
- coupes, for those dainty and fancy dranks
- Wine glasses, because WINE NOT?!
When it comes to style, you can go the more modern route, and buy some clean and sleek glasses from West Elm or Target, or go a bit vintage and retro for an added flair. For our bar car setup, we used glassware from Anthropologie and House of Andaloo.
BARWARE:: Assemble a cocktail toolkit.
Make sure to provide all of the necessary drank making tools that your guests will need, for those who aren’t trying to be top notch mixologists, the basics will do, here’s a list to get you started.
- Metal Shaker
- Mixing Glasses (for those who prefer the Stirred life)
- Jigger (or not, if it’s a Holiday Party, do you really need to have exact measurements?!!)
- Bottle opener
- Drink Stirrers (making cocktails Insta ready – check out our selection)
- Cocktail Napkins (check out our selection)
DECOR & CUSTOMIZATION:: Make that cart Pinterest worthy!
Definitely do not be afraid to get carried away with some decor. Garlands, florals, string lights and lanterns, and even using the extra space as an area to stack gifts for that fun Gift Exchange!
